PFT

Madi had her semi-annual infant PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) this morning. This requires mild sedation (not general anesthesia). The sedation only works if the child can fall asleep on her own, though. This means keeping the child up late at night and waking them up early on the morning of the test so that they are exhausted and ready for a nap when the meds are administered. Fun!! She stayed up until a little past 10 last night and was up at 5:50 this morning. Luckily, my mom was able to come with me to the test and keep her awake on the way to the U of M. She fell asleep not even 5 mns after the really yucky tasting medicine was given - good girl! She passed her test with flying colors! Way to go, big girl!! To quote the Respiratory Therapist that helps administer the test "Her PFTs were heavenly." Yea, Madi!

Yeah, Madi! Was it difficult to keep her awake in the car?
